Oakland City Center, a fourteen-city block master-planned complex, was developed under the direction of CMA principals for absentee owner Bramalea Pacific, Inc. This highly acclaimed, award-winning project is comprised of over five million square feet of office space, hotel, convention center, commercial retail and restaurants, public entertainment open spaces, parking structures, and connections to above and below-ground transportation systems.
Each project element was structured to be individually financed and managed either on a public or private basis. CMA principals acted on behalf of the owner to plan, permit, finance, construct, lease and property manage this $300 million project over a ten-year period.
Part of the City Center project involved 1111 Broadway, an impressive 24-story building consisting of 534,000 sf of office/retail space, designed to capture the significant views of the area from the elevated floors. The efficient structure that provided a high degree of interior usable space coupled with state-of- the-art building systems were contributing factors to a project that was a financial success. CMA partners managed the development, financing, design, construction and operation of the facility.
