Principal

Keith Brown, an architect with more than 25 years of experience, has been responsible for the design and project/construction management of projects ranging from university campus planning and building development, corporate interiors and large-scale office tenant improvements, historic building renovations and adaptive reuse, to the design of free-standing retail and food service facilities. Keith specializes in interior architecture/ space planning projects and the renovation of historic structures.

Representative accomplishments include:

  • Representing the University of San Francisco in the development of a new residence and chapel for the Jesuit Faculty; the development of a 136-unit faculty and staff housing project; and the development of the new Dorraine Zief Law Library.

  • Managing the space planning and build-out of over 10 million sf of tenant space, including one project of 650,000 sf. Keith has worked extensively with various systems furniture products, alternative office concepts, and engineering approaches.

  • Managing 7 separate fast-track design and construction projects in a joint venture with PG&E's Facilities Project Management Department, with work including the simultaneous build-out of 10 full floors (totaling over 200,000 sf) in 3 separate buildings in PG&E's downtown San Francisco office complex, and the relocation of more than 400 staff and management work places over a 15-month period.

  • Providing architectural and consulting services for numerous historic renovation projects, including office buildings, educational and financial institutions, manufacturing, and retail buildings.

  • As Principal of a Bay Area architecture and project management firm, directing projects and consulting to clients including Time Inc., IBM, Commonwealth Club, AT&T Information Systems, Xerox Learning Systems, Home Box Office, Rreef funds, Viacom Cable, Culinary Institute of America, Morse Diesel Construction, Denny's Restaurants.

    Keith received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee, and has studied in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia and La Napoule, France. He has been active on the Interiors and the Historic Building Committees of the American Institute of Architects.
